Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-atihan Festival 2008

Sadsad
with the
Sto. Niño Chapel Pastoral Council
President and His Wife

Sis. Inday and Bro. Nonoy
join us along Mabini St., Kalibo, Aklan during the start of the afternoon procession on Sunday, January 20, 2008.
Bro. Nonoy holds the icon of the Sto. Niño.
We are so glad they joined the group. and we are sure they are, too.
Just look at the pictures--

So what are you all still are waiting for?
Move around, shake a leg, bend your knee, point your fingers
and do the papaya dance?
Nope, let's dance, let's dance--to honor the Holy Child and thank Him for all His bountiful blessings.

That's the unrecognizable choir steward joining them in the fun!

Don't be afraid of that creature on the right. He is harmless and wouldn't even harm a fly!
Trust me, otherwise the couple on his right wouldn't be there at all.

No, no, no! It is not what you think. He is not drunk. In fact, I haven't seen him carry a bottle of beer during the entire sadsad. He is just fooling around. The proof? Watch how he holds the icon of the Sto. Niño. Straight na straight, di ba?

Get a closer look and see the smile in that face.

See? I told you so. Strong as a carabao (Philippine buffalo).
Me? I have to stop for awhile and play with my godson
with the drum I gave him last Christmas. Hmmm, he seems to enjoy
the gift.

Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-atihan Festival 2008

VIVA
KAY
SR. STO. NIÑO!

Lex and Rogie--wearing the different colors of ati-atihan: black and multi-colors. Truly representative of the festival's diversity. I forgot who braided my hair here, but thanks! Is that a dizzy look, blondie Rogie? And who was your hairstylist anyway?

And presenting the junior graduates "kuno" of the Ensemble. As for the honor rolls, it's a TIE--just look at their necks! Okay, let's face it, the juniors are more stylish, more "pregnant" with new ideas. Mercy (far left, above) is a good friend, a frequent recipient of Handog Pamasko from the choir and the chapel. Her beloved husband, past away recently, but not without being happy with a caroling visit in Christmas 2007.
Next to Mercy is Randy, Aiza, Ann Realyn and Cheryl Joy.

No, no, no! I never said show me your butts, but your shirt backs! Common, tell us if the shirt design does look good, eh? Wel's Art surely made a good copy of the design we presented it.
Commendable job!

Two pairs of lovey-doveys. That shows smile doesn't cost a single penny, but gives more!
Joining us in the group street-dancing this year are Peter, Arjoe, Ram and Maricel.
I can almost hear the wedding bells ringing. Is it gonna be a double wedding?
Ask them!

"Mus-eon masadsad (Let's go street-dancing)!,"
seems to be their inviting stance, as the procession marking the culmination of the
week-long celebration takes to the
major streets of Kalibo.
Viva Kay Sr. Sto. Niño, Viva!
